Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has released a recruitment notification for the recruitment of Odisha Municipal Administrative Services (OMAS) under Housing and Development Department. Both male and female candidates can apply for this OPSC OMAS recruitment 2022 and all details regarding the recruitment to the post are given below.

In this recruitment ads, the vacancy position of OMAS released by Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) is 27. As always among these vacancies, 50℅ seats are unreserved and rest are reserved for various categories like Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Socially and Economically Backward Classes (SEBC).
Particularly there are 14 vacancies for UR from which 4 are for women, 3 vacancies for SC from which no seats for women, 5 vacancies for ST from which 3 are for women and finally 5 vacancies for SEBC from which 1 is for women. In case of total vacancy, there are a total of 8 vacancies for women.
Minimum educational qualifications are Graduation from a recognized university or government recognized institution. You should have computer knowledge for getting into this service.
Age criteria for the recruitment is in between 21 to 38 years and these years are to be calculated as on 1st january, 2022. This means you must attain the minimum age (21 years) and not exceeding the upper age limit (38 years) as on 01/01/2022. I hope you are getting my point.
Application for this post will be accepted only through online mode through the official recruitment portal site. Online apply date for OPSC OMAS started from 17 Aug, 2022 and ended in 16 Sept, 2022. This date period is also similar for submission of registered online application.

I am saying this because paper-2 (CSAT) in UPSC CSE is just qualifying in nature but not such in case of OPSC OMAS. And the deduction mark (negative marking) also not resembles with each other.

Paper-I Syllabus
- Current events of national and international importance.
- History of India and Indian National Movement.
- Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
- Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
- Economic and Social Development-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
- General issues on Environmental ecology, Biodiversity and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialization.

OPSC OMAS exam pattern
OPSC OMAS Exam Pattern 2022 is similar as conducted in previous years. In this candidate tested twice through two separate tests by the organization. After this the final merit list will come with the names of selected candidates only as per the vacancy.
In written examination there will be 2 papers named Paper-I, Paper-II and each paper is of 200 marks. Time duration will be two hours for each paper, means 2 hours for Paper-I and 2 hours for Paper-II. The questions will be objective type (Multiple choice questions) and each question carry 2 marks. That means each paper having 100 questions.
There will be negative marking for each incorrect response. For each incorrect answer in both the papers of written examination 1/4 th (0.25) marks will be deducted. As always, no marks will be awarded or deducted for not attempted questions. If you mark more than one option on the OMR sheet, then it will be treated as wrong attempt and there will be marks deduction for this.
The second phase of this examination is Interview (Viva Voce Test). This test is of 50 marks and this mark will be calculated for merit.
1) Written Examination
– Paper-I > 100 questions > 200 marks > 2 hrs
– Paper-II > 100 questions > 200 marks > 2 hrs
2) Viva Voice Test (50 marks)

OPSC OMAS Selection Process
OPSC OMAS Selection Process 2022 is not so simple. Candidates have to go through two exam phases (if selected in first one) i.e. Written Examination & Viva Voce Test.
After being qualified in the above two phases, alloted marks sums up to make the final merit list. Then selected candidates will get the job in accordance their rank and the preferences indicated by them while applying for the post.
